CASEY - LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH

Where do I begin? First of all let me introduce you to Casey. Formed in 2014, the South Wales melodic 5 piece seem to have taken the scene by storm. 2016 was a huge year for the band, they released their debut album 'Love Is Not Enough' and toured across Europe with the likes of Being As An Ocean, Capsize and Northlane.

2015 saw the release of their first EP 'Darling' which had a phenomenal response from new found fans from all over the globe which led the band to their rapid success and found them being signed to Hassle Records. With new music already in the works, upcoming shows plotted all over Europe and an ever growing fan base there is no doubt in my mind that 2017 is going to be anything but huge for Casey.

Love Is Not Enough is an absolutely breathtaking album to say the least, with lyrics that are sure to hit hard and some of the most stunning guitar melodies that will send shivers down your spine. The first song that was released from Love Is Not Enough was 'Ceremony' (which also features Michael McGough of Being As An Ocean). When I heard this song I was hooked from the get go, it drops you straight into it like a Casey style slap in the face and gives you an extremely good taste of what the rest of the album consists of. It gave me very high expectations and in this case I most definitely was not disappointed.

Casey have not strayed far from the sound that we recognise from the previous Darling EP, yet the boys have somehow managed to step up their game tenfold. How? Who knows. The mix of harsh vocals and the soft guitar riffs are a mixture that go hand in hand together when executed as well as Casey manage to. For me, each song adds up to create an album that offers something completely original to other recent releases, and I think it would be almost impossible for me to determine a favourite, or a 'stand out' track. The band seem to have found a very personal way to connect with and reach out to fans through their music, and I think this is part of the reason that Love Is Not Enough has been such a huge success.

To sum it up without writing a whole new page full, this album is nothing short of a masterpiece and is most definitely in my top 10 albums of 2016. If you are yet to give the Casey boys a listen then let this be the motivation you needed because you will not regret it. Your collection NEEDS this.
